Yea, I don't have a clue what he was thinking. It is common around here to block of several lanes to make sure all the responders are safe.

P.S. I'm glad the idiot was fined, but he should have been busted down to park janitor.

I work with alongside a lot of Great Policemen. Although every once in a while we run into an arrogant Officer that thinks he controls the scene. They don't, Fire and EMS control the scene once we arrive unless their is an active issue that DIRECTLY involves the police and their work. It's our scene and we do this every day. We strategicly place our Emergency vehicles for the protection of our patients, ourselves, and the police on scene. This particular cop was under the false assumption that he was in charge. Enjoy the fine Dumbass! L;-)

Seems that there are always going to be cops like that one. And, on top of everything else, the fd was protecting the cop, too.
